Gary Leach
Director
Gary, having been appointed by the Boys State Commission, is the Director of the California Boys & Girls State program. His duties include preparing the budget, securing all necessary contracts with the venue site, and recommending the appointment of the Chief Counselor and other Administrative Staff. Gary has served on the staff since 2015, and has served on the Boys State Commission for ten years. He is also a Past Department Commander of The American Legion Department of California. Gary serves on the Board of Directors of The California Boys & Girls State Foundation as its President. He retired from the United States Navy in 1989 as a Senior Chief Petty Officer, and from the Woodland Joint Unified School District in 2014 where he was Network Administrator.
